Eastbourne AM

Ray was up at ten past dark o’clock on Friday 4th April to make the 40 minute drive across to Sovereign Harbour to pick up Andy and get to Chalk Farm where “Eastbourne AM” have their weekly breakfast meetings at 7 AM! It seems a very uncivilized time to have a Rotary meeting but they are a great bunch and extremely active with what always seem huge projects.
Eastbourne AM is Andy’s sponsoring club and they have invited him along to several of the weekly meetings as well as some or their social events.
Today Andy has been asked to come and deliver his part of the presentation we are making to the clubs in Australia. It was also a chance to show off our casual attire, polo shirts and light weight fleece, very smart! As ever Ray and Andy were given a very warm welcome by President Rachel and the other members of the club. Eastbourne AM are just about to set up an Interact club (for 14 to 18 year olds) at the local Raton School. This morning they were also guests thanking the club for their help and outlining the projects they have in mind when they are chartered later this month. Being guests we were first in the queue for breakfast an absolute feast but no good what so ever for the waist line. Whilst the club progressed through its normal business and the Interactors made their presentation Ray and Andy set up the IT to run Andy’s presentation. This was only the second time Andy had made the presentation and his, more than anyone’s, relies on the IT working. Cue Andy; he thanked the club for their support and launched his presentation which went like clockwork (well electronics actually) and received a healthy round of applause bolstering his confidence and proving that it does all work.
All set now for the off!
